About this plugin
Simple Concept strips synthesis down to its essentials without sacrificing sonic depth. Built on Krotos' Concept engine, this compact soft-synth prioritizes workflow efficiency over parameter abundance, making it an effective tool for producers who need results without menu diving.
The plugin's architecture centers on macro controls that govern essential synthesis parameters - oscillator character, filter behavior, and modulation depth - presented in a immediately accessible layout. An ADSR section handles envelope shaping, while a built-in oscilloscope provides real-time visual feedback of the master output, useful for monitoring harmonic content and overall balance. The effects section integrates standard processing tools that interact transparently with the synth engine rather than functioning as afterthoughts.

The 80 included presets demonstrate solid design fundamentals across basses, leads, pads, and textural elements. The Tweak It function - which generates variations by intelligently randomizing parameters within musically coherent bounds - proves more thoughtful than basic randomization, often producing usable derivatives rather than discordant noise.
Simple Concept occupies useful territory between preset-dependent instruments and deep synthesis environments. It suits producers seeking quick sound design iteration during composition, session musicians needing reliable melodic tools without setup overhead, and those exploring synthesis basics before committing to more complex systems.
Relative to competitors like Serum or Pigments, Simple Concept trades raw synthesis capability for operational simplicity. It's not a sound design destination but a pragmatic instrument that respects production momentum. For experienced engineers, its value lies in providing friction-free ideation rather than comprehensive synthesis control.
