About this plugin
The KORG Collection WAVESTATION V2 brings the legendary 1990 synthesizer into modern production environments as a fully featured plugin. Rather than a simple sample playback tool, this is a complete circuit-level recreation of the original hardware, developed through exhaustive analysis of the instrument's schematics and painstaking parameter matching by engineers intimately familiar with the original design.
The plugin's defining characteristic remains vector synthesis combined with wave sequencing. The joystick-driven morphing system lets you blend four oscillators across XY coordinates in real time, creating smooth, evolving timbral transitions impossible with traditional synthesis alone. Wave sequencing - which the WAVESTATION pioneered - arranges multiple waveforms in continuous sequences, allowing you to build movement into patches at the architectural level rather than through modulation alone. This hybrid approach produces the characteristic animated, shimmering textures that define the WAVESTATION's sonic identity.

The plugin includes all 1,500 factory programs across the original ROM and expansion cards, providing immediate access to the presets that defined early 1990s sample-based synthesis. The high-resolution, scalable interface adapts to modern screens without compromising usability or workflow.
WAVESTATION V2 serves sound designers, film composers, and electronic musicians seeking those specific granular, sequentially evolving timbres that defined the era. Its wave sequencing approach remains conceptually distinct from contemporary synthesizers, making it genuinely irreplaceable rather than redundant. For producers interested in early nineties textures or vector synthesis itself, this plugin represents the authoritative software implementation of an instrument that still influences modern design philosophy.
