About this plugin
The KORG Collection TRITON resurrects one of synthesis's most consequential workstations as a software instrument, offering access to the sonic palette that defined early 2000s production across hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music. Rather than a cosmetic emulation, this plugin reconstructs the original hardware's HI (Hyper Integrated) synthesis architecture in code, capturing the 48kHz PCM sample library alongside the dual filter topology, five insert effects, two master effects, and master EQ that made the 1999 hardware a studio essential.
The plugin's technical foundation rests on meticulous reverse-engineering supervised by the original TRITON's developers. This attention extends beyond raw specifications to the subtle harmonic coloration and filter response characteristics specific to the hardware's circuits. The result is tonally consistent with the original while offering the workflow advantages of software - unlimited instances, parameter automation, and DAW integration.

With over 4,000 factory programs, the TRITON ships with sounds requiring minimal tweaking. This preset philosophy proved revolutionary in 1999 and remains the plugin's primary strength for producers working at speed. The combination mode supports up to eight multi-timbral parts, enabling complex arrangements without additional instances.
The TRITON Extreme variant expands this foundation with additional sounds and refinements. For contemporary producers seeking authentic early-2000s character or those familiar with the hardware, this plugin delivers genuine sonic continuity rather than approximation. It remains most compelling for genre work where that specific aesthetic matters - hip-hop, trap, and R&B production where the TRITON's characteristic warmth and punch remain timeless reference points.
