MonoPoly

KORG's Mono/Poly V2 is a software emulation of the 1981 analog synthesizer, rebuilt for contemporary production workflows using the company's Component Modeling Technology (CMT). Rather than modeling output behavior alone, CMT digitally reconstructs the circuit-level characteristics of transistors, capacitors, and resistors found in the original hardware, resulting in sonic fidelity that extends beyond surface-level emulation.

The plugin centers on four voltage-controlled oscillators, each with independent envelope generators for frequency and filter modulation. Oscillator sync and cross-modulation functions enable the aggressive, harmonically complex timbres the original became known for - a sonic signature that shaped numerous recordings across synthpop, post-punk, and industrial music. The architecture supports both monophonic operation with stacked voices and true four-voice polyphony, unusual for synths of that era.

Beyond oscillator design, Mono/Poly V2 includes chord memory, an arpeggiator, and now two multieffects processors absent from the original.
