About this plugin
The KORG Collection ARP 2600 stands as the definitive software recreation of arguably the most influential compact synthesizer ever designed. Rather than approximate the original hardware, KORG's proprietary CMT modeling technology faithfully captures the analog circuit behavior that defined the 2600's character - including its distinctive filter response, custom envelope and LFO curves, and the subtle nonlinearities that give it warmth and musicality. Critically, patches from the original ARP 2600 Patch Book translate directly to the plugin, something no competing implementation achieves.
The software expands the original architecture with practical modern additions: a second filter, saturation stage, enhanced modulation routing, extensive MIDI control, and up to 16-voice polyphony. A built-in sequencer handles pattern work without requiring external gear. The left-to-right signal flow remains straightforward enough for synthesis newcomers while offering sufficient depth for experienced sound designers exploring generative and modulation-heavy textures.

This instrument suits producers and engineers seeking authentic analog warmth for everything from bass synthesis to pad creation and electronic percussion design. Its approachability makes it equally valuable for education, allowing students to understand subtractive synthesis principles through immediate, tactile interaction rather than menu diving.
The ARP 2600 occupies a unique position in software synthesis - it functions simultaneously as a learning tool, a professional production instrument, and a historically accurate emulation. For studios requiring the specific sonic character and workflow philosophy of one of synthesizer design's most enduring concepts, this plugin represents the closest approximation available in digital form.
