About this plugin
Modley is a modulation-based delay plugin that fundamentally restructures how delay effects process audio. Rather than treating delay as a simple time-based effect, Klevgrand has architected it as a three-stage signal flow where users insert effect modules into Pre, Loop, and Post racks. This architecture transforms the delay into a sound design instrument capable of producing everything from conventional tape-style repeats to heavily processed, unrecognizable textures.
The plugin's sonic character emerges from its 15 effect modules - including phaser, distortion, tape saturation, pitch shifting, reverb, and bitcrusher - each capable of processing the delayed signal at different points in the chain. The Loop rack's feedback control creates self-reinforcing processing, where effects cascade across repeats in unpredictable ways. Version 1.1 refinements, including a bandpass filter mode and expanded pitch range, expand creative possibilities further.

Modley operates with host tempo sync, global modulation capabilities, and a built-in limiter that prevents runaway feedback scenarios. The Freeze function captures loop output either before or after the loop rack, useful for creating extended textural beds without manual intervention.
The plugin targets sound designers and experimental producers more than engineers seeking transparent delay emulation. Its strength lies in generating pad textures, abstract rhythmic transformations, and otherworldly effects unsuitable for traditional mixing contexts. While capable of standard slapback and stereo delay duties, these represent only a fraction of Modley's scope.
Modley occupies a distinct niche among multi-effect delay tools - less conventional than standard delay plugins, more accessible than patching modular synthesis. It rewards deep exploration but demands intention from users.
