About this plugin
Kirnu Cream is a MIDI effects plugin that functions as a performance instrument rather than a conventional arpeggiator or sequencer. Built around four independent tracks with configurable key zones and separate MIDI routing, it enables complex harmonic and rhythmic transformations from minimal input. The plugin's architecture prioritizes sample-accurate MIDI generation, maintaining the timing precision Kirnu established in its predecessor without incurring significant CPU overhead.
The core workflow centers on pattern-based performance. Each track accommodates 12 patterns that can be sequenced automatically or triggered via external MIDI control, allowing producers to layer intricate arrangements from modular pattern blocks. The chord memory feature - offering 16 slots with inversion capabilities and preset saving - streamlines harmonic performance, enabling single-note input to trigger full voicings. This proves particularly useful for live performers working with hardware synthesizers or for composers building complex arrangements within a DAW.

Cream functions effectively across production stages: the pattern sequencer suits offline composition and arrangement, while the real-time control options serve live performance contexts. The plugin runs on both Windows and macOS in 32 and 64-bit variants (64-bit only on Mac), with stable performance across major DAWs including Logic Pro.
The plugin occupies a distinct category between arpeggiators and sequencers, offering greater compositional flexibility than the former while maintaining the accessibility of the latter. It appeals to producers seeking to move beyond static arpeggio patterns, hardware synthesizer performers requiring intelligent MIDI processing, and composers working within time-constrained production environments where sophisticated arrangements must be constructed efficiently.
