The core strength lies in its three distinct saturation modes, each generating different harmonic profiles. The ODD mode produces third-order harmonics for edgy, gritty character; EVEN generates second-order harmonics for smoother, more musical saturation; and DIGT applies digital soft clipping optimized for transient-rich material like drums and mastering contexts, with added presence in the high midrange.

The signal flow architecture separates tonal shaping from saturation processing. High-frequency and low-frequency controls operate upstream of the distortion circuit, allowing users to pre-shape material before saturation occurs. This design proves particularly useful when working across genres - boosting highs before saturation creates aggressive presence, while low-end emphasis before clipping generates thickness without muddiness. The highpass filter extends to 420Hz, providing practical cleanup of unwanted low-frequency content.
