About this plugin
Just Add Djent Drums is a purpose-built sample library for Slate Trigger 2 that addresses a specific production need: drums that can compete with dense, heavily processed guitar tones in modern metal. The pack delivers 1,572 samples across kick, snare, and tom articulations, each pre-processed to cut through aggressive mix contexts without requiring extensive additional work.
The sonic character emphasizes low-end punch on the kick and clarity on the snare and toms - essential qualities when layering with distorted guitars and complex rhythmic arrangements. The library includes both raw and processed TCI files that preserve individual microphone channels for Trigger 2, allowing engineers to retain control over transient shaping and microphone blending. Cymbals ship as high-quality WAV files, providing flexibility outside the Trigger 2 ecosystem.

The articulation set is comprehensive and practical: four hat positions (closed, pedal, open, tip and half-open), multiple crash and ride variations, choke samples, and rim shot articulations. The inclusion of one-shot TCIs alongside multi-layered samples caters to both programming approaches and offers quick access for rapid composition.
This library is best suited for metal producers and engineers who prioritize workflow efficiency and need drums that integrate seamlessly into heavy mixes without extensive processing. While not a general-purpose drum library, it occupies a legitimate niche alongside similar genre-specific tools. The Trigger 2 platform integration ensures professional-grade sound design control, making this a practical investment for the target demographic rather than a novelty pack.
