About this plugin
IK Multimedia's Triad Chorus represents a thoughtful modernization of the classic stereo chorus architecture that defined '80s production. Rather than simply digitizing a vintage circuit, the plugin expands the original concept by tripling its architecture - three independent chorus voices, each with separate controls for amount, rate, phase, pan, and BPM sync.
The sonic character remains centered on the warm, dimensional quality associated with analog chorus units, though the digital implementation allows for precise parameter control that would be cumbersome on hardware. The three-voice configuration creates a natural advantage over single-voice competitors: by layering voices at different rates and phases, you can achieve richer modulation textures that avoid the somewhat obvious "chorus effect" of simpler designs. The feedback control adds another dimension, enabling anything from subtle thickening to more pronounced, swirling effects.

This architecture proves particularly effective on guitars, keyboards, and vocals where density and movement matter. The stereo capabilities are substantial, especially when you consider independent pan positioning for each voice - a feature that elevates Triad Chorus beyond basic chorus processors into genuine spatial design territory.
The twenty included presets provide useful starting points across bass, guitar, keys, and FX categories, though the plugin's real value emerges when you begin sculpting your own settings. Engineers and producers comfortable with modulation effects will appreciate the control granularity here, while those newer to chorus might find the three-voice approach initially complex but ultimately rewarding.
