Iamlamprey constructed the instrument by subjecting 2GB of sustained piano recordings to aggressive time-stretching, granular resynthesis, infinite delay networks, and large-scale reverb processing, resulting in a palette that occupies the liminal space between recognizable piano timbre and abstract atmospheric texture.
The instrument's 16 sound banks demonstrate considerable sonic diversity, from subtly warped classical tones to deeply abstracted drones that bear minimal resemblance to their acoustic origins. The randomization function proves genuinely useful for rapid patch exploration, generating full parameter sets across all sound banks with a single action. This feature particularly benefits workflows prioritizing iterative discovery over meticulous parameter adjustment.
Control mapping includes pitch bend and filter cutoff assignment to the modulation wheel, enabling real-time tonal manipulation during performance or automation recording. The integrated effects chain, with automatable controllers, provides additional shaping capabilities without requiring external processing.
