About this plugin
Hertz Studio's Metal Impact represents a focused approach to Kemper profiling, delivering 23 high to medium-gain guitar profiles alongside a single bass crunch profile. Created by engineer Wojtek Wieslawski, the pack prioritizes mix-ready character over extensive post-processing, with no EQ or compression applied to any guitar profiles during creation. This restraint signals confidence in the underlying amp and microphone choices.
The technical foundation relies on blended amp, cabinet, and microphone combinations for each profile rather than relying on single sources. This layered approach yields profiles with natural complexity and presence that translates well across mixing contexts and live applications. The sonic palette covers contemporary rock and metal styles without extreme gain ranges, making the profiles accessible for players working across multiple genres within heavier music.

What distinguishes Metal Impact from comparable packs is its testing methodology. Each profile was evaluated with bass and drums present, reflecting real-world band dynamics rather than isolated guitar assessment. This workflow-informed design suggests profiles that sit effectively in dense arrangements without requiring excessive automation or processing.
The pack suits studio producers and live engineers equally well. Studio users benefit from profiles that require minimal sculpting before tracking, while stage applications gain from sounds pre-vetted in band contexts. Given the straightforward feature set and emphasis on sound selection over novelty, Metal Impact appeals to engineers seeking practical, working tones rather than experimental processing tools. The inclusion of a bass profile, though limited, suggests awareness of cohesive band tone.
