About this plugin
Hertz Drums Complete 1 represents a comprehensive approach to virtual drum production, consolidating the full Hertz Instruments catalog into a single plugin environment. At its core sits Hertz Drums 2, a sampler-based drum engine offering up to eight independent articulations per drum sound, capturing the nuanced variations of recorded percussion through center hits, rimshots, and edge strikes played with both hands. This articulation depth allows producers to construct drum performances with genuine tonal variation rather than relying on layered samples of identical hits.
The plugin's architecture emphasizes flexibility and control. A fully integrated sampler accommodates custom samples, while pre-configured drum maps ensure compatibility with established workflows from competing virtual drum software. The humanization module directly addresses the mechanical quality that plagues many drum plugins, introducing dynamic variation that mimics authentic drummer behavior across velocity, timing, and articulation selection.

The bundle's extensive MIDI library provides thousands of professionally recorded drum patterns spanning rock, metal, funk, and related genres, sourced from session drummers performing in multiple styles. These grooves function as starting points rather than finished solutions, feeding into the groove player for real-time manipulation and development.
Hertz Drums Complete 1 suits producers and engineers seeking granular control over drum tone without sacrificing workflow efficiency. The inclusion of dozens of pre-mixed kit presets addresses quick-turnaround sessions, while the deep editing capabilities satisfy meticulous sound design work. Whether functioning as a standalone application or DAW plugin, this collection positions itself as a legitimate alternative to competing drum software, particularly for rock and metal production where articulation clarity and tonal authenticity matter most.
