About this plugin
Hertz Drums 2 White Pack is an expansion library for the Hertz Drums sampled drum kit plugin, built around a professionally recorded American Maple drum set. The pack delivers a fundamentally balanced sonic character, emphasizing clarity in the midrange and highs while maintaining sufficient low-end warmth to anchor a full mix without requiring extensive EQ intervention.
The kit comprises five kick drum variations spanning from classic 22x18 configurations to a deeper 24x14 option, providing useful flexibility for genre-specific tuning. The snare selection ranges from tight brass and aluminum shells to warmer mahogany options, all recorded at 6.5" diameter except one 5" classical variant. The tom collection features matched American Maple shells in 8", 10", 12", 14", and 16" sizes, supporting both conventional and extended configurations. Supporting percussion includes a contemporary cymbal selection pairing Zildjian Custom Darks with supplementary splash and china options.

Where White Pack distinguishes itself is in its preset architecture. Rather than generic processing chains, the 16 included presets address specific sonic contexts: Metal and Progressive Metal presets emphasize attack and definition, while alternatives like Drumscape and Vast Room Vibe layer algorithmic space more deliberately. This approach reflects actual mix workflow rather than arbitrary effects stacking.
The library excels for metal and modern rock productions where drum tightness and articulation matter fundamentally. For engineers working across pop, country, and blues contexts, its balanced palette translates well to straightforward, uncolored drum tracks. The White Pack occupies practical middle ground: neither aggressively character-driven nor generically neutral, it functions as dependable foundation material for producers who prioritize mix clarity over sonic idiosyncrasy.
