About this plugin
FURY is Heavyocity's semi-modular distortion plugin designed for producers and engineers who need flexibility beyond conventional saturation tools. The architecture divides distortion processing into three primary sections - DRIVE, DISTORTION, and TONE - each containing swappable modules that yield over 700 possible signal chain configurations. This modular approach distinguishes FURY from fixed-algorithm competitors, allowing users to construct anything from transparent analog-modeled warmth to aggressive lo-fi decimation and chaotic harmonic manipulation.
The plugin's real strength lies in its surgical control. Beyond basic distortion selection, FURY includes gate functionality, feedback controls, and both pre and post-distortion EQ stages, enabling precise tonal shaping that can rescue problematic sources or accentuate specific harmonic characteristics. The addition of modulation capabilities - LFO, envelope follower, and sequencer - remains uncommon in distortion design but proves valuable for adding movement or reactivity without relying on automation.

The 128 factory presets, organized by instrument and use case, provide solid starting points for drums, bass, keys, and guitars, though experienced sound designers will likely spend more time crafting custom combinations than browsing presets. The plugin performs competitively against boutique distortion tools like Soundtoys Devil-Loc or Fabfilter Saturn 2, though its modular design caters more toward experimental sound design than transparent mixing scenarios.
FURY suits producers seeking detailed distortion control and engineers working across multiple genres who need a single plugin capable of everything from subtle character to extreme destruction. Its learning curve is moderate, but the sonic payoff justifies the investment for serious production work.
