About this plugin
Damage 2 represents a significant advancement in orchestral percussion sampling, building on the foundation of its predecessor with substantially expanded source material and refined processing architecture. Recorded at Skywalker Sound, the instrument delivers over 40,000 samples across nearly 60GB, sourced from an extensive array of percussion instruments ranging from 24" to 72" gran casas and taikos to unconventional struck elements and found sounds.
The plugin's core strength lies in its three discrete engines, each offering distinct workflows for sound design and performance. Five discrete microphone channels - close, room, hall, LFE, and crush - provide comprehensive spatial control and the ability to sculpt impact characteristics across the frequency spectrum. The crush channel deserves particular attention, as it delivers the aggressive hybrid processing Heavyocity has become known for, allowing producers to extract visceral, heavily processed percussion textures without relying solely on external processing.

With 860+ loops and realistic MIDI performance tools that capture genuine crescendos and flourishes, Damage 2 suits composers and sound designers working in film, television, and high-impact commercial music. The plugin excels when used for trailer work, orchestral cues requiring explosive percussive elements, and hybrid scoring contexts where realistic orchestration must coexist with aggressive, manipulated textures.
Compared to sample-based percussion libraries, Damage 2 distinguishes itself through its integrated effects engine and performance-oriented design. For engineers seeking ready-made, professionally processed percussion with significant sonic character, this toolkit offers immediate usability without extensive sound design overhead. It represents a mature refinement of impact-focused percussion sampling for contemporary production demands.
