About this plugin
Harvest is a generative MIDI plugin that approaches composition from an unconventional angle. Rather than offering pre-programmed loops or sample libraries, it functions as an instrument-controlled sequencer where physical MIDI input drives melody and rhythm generation. You tap out timing on a keyboard or drum pad, and the plugin responds with note and pattern suggestions constrained by your chosen scale and rhythmic framework.
The core workflow centers on iterative refinement. A lock tool allows you to freeze sections that work while regenerating others, gradually shaping chaotic output into usable material. Eight integrated effects - applied post-generation rather than as mixing tools - provide additional harmonic and rhythmic manipulation, pushing results further from their source material.

The interface balances specificity with spontaneity. An interactive piano roll lets you make exact edits when randomization fails to deliver, while preset and custom scale options control tonal character without requiring deep music theory knowledge. Live Mode transforms Harvest into a sophisticated arpeggiator for real-time performance, useful for both composition and sound design.
Harvest appeals primarily to producers seeking compositional assistance or those exploring generative workflows without extensive programming knowledge. It's particularly valuable for breaking creative blocks and reducing reliance on sample packs, though its actual utility depends heavily on your comfort with hybrid human-machine composition. The tapping mechanism distinguishes it from purely algorithmic generators, restoring intentional creative input to an otherwise randomized process. For experimental producers and those working across multiple genres, Harvest offers a legitimate alternative to traditional sequencing.
