About this plugin
Final Metal Drums is a sampled drum kit library designed specifically for heavy metal production, built around gear favored during the 2000s metal era. Ugritone has captured a Gretsch Catalina Maple kit across kick, toms, and cymbals, paired with a Ludwig Supralite snare, recording each element with enough fidelity to integrate seamlessly into modern mixes without requiring extensive processing.
The sonic character leans toward natural, uncolored capture rather than heavily treated studio processing. The kick drum delivers clarity and definition suitable for both drop-tuned riffs and standard tunings, while the Ludwig snare provides the articulate crack essential to metal's rhythmic precision. The tom arrangement spans four sizes, enabling dynamic fills without reaching for additional samples. The cymbal selection balances practical workhorses - Impression Rock hi-hats and ride - with darker, more aggressive voices through Wuhan China and Meinl options, giving players flexibility across metal's tonal spectrum.

The plugin ships with eight presets addressing common production scenarios: a bone-dry option for maximum control, roomy variants for different spatial characteristics, and preset kits like "Bleeding" and "Final Metal" that demonstrate tonal possibilities. This approach acknowledges that contemporary metal production often demands significant customization, positioning the presets as starting points rather than finished solutions.
Final Metal Drums suits producers working in djent, traditional heavy metal, and metalcore who prioritize authentic drum character over synthetic sound design. At roughly 400 MB, the library occupies minimal drive space while delivering sufficient sample depth for professional applications. It represents a straightforward, no-nonsense approach to metal drums without pretense or unnecessary features.
