About this plugin
Fiedler Audio's Mastering Console 2 represents a fundamentally different approach to Dolby Atmos mastering. Rather than forcing spatial audio workflows into stereo mastering paradigms, it treats immersive and stereo content as co-equal deliverables from the outset, processing them through a unified master chain that respects the technical requirements of both formats simultaneously.
The plugin architecture centers on OBAM compatibility, allowing engineers to deploy their existing professional plug-in chains across Atmos beds and objects without translation loss. This matters practically: your limiting behavior, EQ characteristics, and dynamic processing remain consistent whether you're working on stereo stems or spatial objects. The integrated True Peak Limiter handles loudness conformance with granular LKFS control, automatically maintaining compliance with Dolby's technical standards while preserving mix intent.

The 3D visualization system goes beyond eye candy, functioning as a diagnostic tool for understanding how objects behave spatially during mastering processing. Hiding beds to isolate dynamic objects or vice versa reveals processing artifacts that stereo-only workflows would miss entirely.
Best suited for mastering engineers and mix specialists already versed in immersive audio standards, the Mastering Console 2 demands competency with Atmos fundamentals but rewards that expertise with genuinely streamlined batch processing and album assembly. Its Dolby Labs approval grants access to professional-tier metadata and routing options unavailable in consumer tools.
At its core, this is engineering-focused software that acknowledges spatial audio mastering as a distinct discipline rather than stereo mastering's afterthought.
