About this plugin
Soliste Suite represents a significant advancement in physical modeling for solo strings, delivering four individually selectable instruments - violin, viola, cello, and double bass - built on Expressive E's refined synthesis architecture. The plugin distinguishes itself through its real-time responsiveness to nuanced performance gestures, a critical distinction from conventional sample-based string libraries that remain fundamentally static regardless of input variation.
The physical modeling approach grants producers genuine tonal malleability unavailable in sampled alternatives. Users can adjust bow response characteristics, vibrato depth and speed, and body resonance parameters to create instruments that respond intuitively to their playing style rather than conforming to predetermined sonic templates. This flexibility proves invaluable for composers seeking unconventional timbres or performers accustomed to acoustic instruments who expect direct physical feedback.

Soliste Suite achieves its fullest potential with MPE controllers like the Osmose, where per-note pressure and lateral gestures control expression with granular precision. However, the suite remains functional across standard MIDI setups and the Touché interface, ensuring broader accessibility without compromising core functionality.
The sonic character sits between analytical clarity and organic warmth. Sustains exhibit the natural harmonic complexity expected from bowed strings, while transitions between notes maintain convincing physical articulation. Tremolo modes and extended techniques expand the palette beyond traditional playing styles.
Best suited for film and television composers, contemporary classical performers, and producers prioritizing expressive control over convenience, Soliste Suite justifies its position as a primary string tool for MPE-equipped studios. It represents the current standard for physically modeled solo strings in plugin form.
