About this plugin
Motion: Dimension positions itself as a spatial effects workstation built around dual delay engines and reverb processing, unified through Excite Audio's Hexagon controller interface. The plugin tackles a specific niche: producers and sound designers who need precise, animated control over complex time-based effects without switching between multiple instances or automation lanes.
The dual delay architecture allows independent tempo-synced or free-running delay lines, supporting reverse modes for experimental textures. Reverb processing offers straightforward plate and hall algorithms rather than extensive algorithmic variety, prioritizing sonic cohesion with the delay section over comprehensive reverb simulation. The routing flexibility between series and parallel signal flow gives users genuine tonal control, though the reverb character tends toward lush atmospheric rather than surgical spatial definition.

The Hexagon controller differentiates this tool meaningfully. Rather than conventional XY pads, six macro sliders respond to cursor proximity through a magnetic field, enabling expressive real-time modulation or pre-programmed automation paths. This proves genuinely useful for evolving pad textures or rhythmic delay feedback, though it requires either manual performance or deliberate pathway plotting rather than simple parameter tweaking.
Motion: Dimension appeals primarily to electronic musicians, ambient producers, and sound designers comfortable with exploratory workflows. It's less suited for engineers seeking pristine spatial control or traditional reverb characteristics. Among comparable tools, it occupies space between conventional delay-reverb combinations and fully modular approaches, distinguishing itself through interface design rather than core processing algorithms.
