About this plugin
Bloom Drum Percussion Upgrade represents a substantial expansion of Excite Audio's percussion engine, delivering an additional 150 presets and 50+ samples to an already capable instrument. The upgrade meaningfully extends the Lite version's capabilities without requiring a full license repurchase, making it an economical path for existing users seeking greater sonic depth.
The core strength lies in its sample selection: a carefully curated collection spanning djembes, surdos, bongos, repiniques, talkings drums, and various shakers captured with attention to frequency response detail. The library balances low-end resonance with articulate high-frequency definition, making individual percussion elements sit naturally in dense mixes.

Functionally, the upgrade unlocks several production-focused features. The Banks View enables rapid preset switching within a drag-and-drop workflow, while the Sampler section provides genuine editing depth through pitch, playback speed, and envelope controls. The sequencer offers an intuitive approach to beat programming and effect modulation, moving beyond simple playback into actual sound design territory. Importable user samples and rearrangeable effect chains grant meaningful customization.
This upgrade suits producers working in electronic music, film scoring, or contemporary genres requiring authentic yet processed percussion textures. The randomization feature proves particularly valuable for discovering unconventional sonic combinations during composition. While not a replacement for dedicated sampling workflows, Bloom Drum Percussion Upgrade strikes a pragmatic balance between accessibility and creative flexibility.
Among comparable percussion instruments, it occupies a mid-tier position: more specialized than general drum machines, less exhaustive than full sampling platforms, but distinguished by its emphasis on organic acoustic sources and streamlined interface design.
