About this plugin
Bloom Drum Percussion Crossgrade offers a focused entry point into Excite Audio's percussion toolkit for existing Bloom users. This instrument consolidates hand-played Latin and African percussion sourced through meticulous analog recording, capturing djembes, surdos, bongos, congas, timbales, and talking drums across the full frequency spectrum. The library prioritizes organic character over synthesis, preserving the tonal complexity of acoustic hits while maintaining production clarity.
The engine centers on an intuitive step sequencer paired with 250 presets organized across eight banks. Rather than relying on abstract sound design, Excite Audio structured the interface around practical workflow needs - loop exploration, one-shot layering, and rhythm pattern building. The macro system addresses the core mixing demands: Lo-Fi filtering, Drive saturation, Slap Delay, and Multi Delay provide essential tonal shaping without overwhelming creative decision-making.

This crossgrade suits producers and composers seeking authentic percussion textures without the commitment of learning complex sampling workflows. The preset architecture leans toward experienced users comfortable manipulating macros and sequencer patterns, making it particularly valuable for film scoring, world music production, and genre-forward electronic work where percussion authenticity matters.
Compared to broader sample packs or general-purpose drum machines, Bloom Drum Percussion trades versatility for sonic specificity. The recording quality and preset curation justify the specialized focus, though producers requiring Western kit sounds or synthetic percussion will look elsewhere. For users already invested in Bloom's ecosystem, this crossgrade price effectively expands your percussion palette without requiring full plugin investment.
