About this plugin
Bloom Drum Percussion delivers a curated collection of hand-played Latin and African percussion instruments captured with meticulous attention to organic detail. Excite Audio recorded congas, djembes, talking drums, berimbaus, balafons, and an extensive array of shakers and hand percussion using high-end analogue gear paired with contemporary production techniques, preserving the raw character of each instrument while enhancing sonic depth across the frequency spectrum.
The plugin operates around 250 presets organized across eight banks of loops, one-shots, and rhythm patterns. The sequencer integrates intuitively with session tempos, and four macros - Lo-Fi, Drive, Slap Delay, and Multi Delay - provide essential sound shaping without overwhelming workflow. Three onboard effects allow further refinement, though the source material itself carries sufficient tonal complexity that many users will find the presets immediately useful without extensive tweaking.

Bloom Drum Percussion suits producers seeking authentic percussion textures for electronic production, world music contexts, or hybrid arrangements. The Brazilian samba and West African groove foundations give it particular strength in genres that value rhythmic sophistication, though the breadth of single hits makes it adaptable across styles. The recent addition of sample import functionality extends utility beyond preset constraints.
The plugin's sonic character reflects careful recording choices rather than aggressive processing. Instruments maintain their dimensional quality - djembes retain attack definition, shakers preserve shimmer, and lower-frequency instruments like surdos anchor without muddiness. This restraint positions Bloom Drum Percussion as a capable tool for mixing-forward producers rather than novelty-focused sound design.
