About this plugin
Bloom Drum Machine represents a thoughtful expansion of Excite Audio's drum synthesis platform, adding substantive tools for producers who've outgrown the Lite version. The upgrade introduces over 150 additional presets and 50 new drum samples, drawing from classic hardware units while maintaining a modern workflow architecture.
The core appeal lies in its sequencer, which departs from conventional piano roll conventions. Rather than traditional step sequencing, Bloom employs a draw-based approach that integrates pattern programming with real-time effect modulation. This hybrid methodology proves particularly effective for electronic and hip-hop producers seeking tighter control over rhythmic evolution without constant parameter adjustment.

The expanded sampler editing suite grants meaningful control over individual drum hits. Tuning capabilities, playback control, and depth parameters allow surgical refinement of sample character, while the randomization feature encourages sonic exploration. The ability to import custom samples directly addresses the limitation many face with preset-dependent instruments, extending usability across diverse production contexts.
Bloom's rearrangeable effects chains distinguish it from competitors. Rather than locked signal flow, the FX modules can be chained in arbitrary order, fundamentally altering how traditional drum processing behaves. This flexibility appeals to sound designers and experimentally inclined producers.
The Banks View workflow streamlines preset navigation through drag-and-drop functionality, addressing the friction many experience switching sounds during composition. For producers balancing creative momentum against technical precision, the upgrade provides genuine operational improvements over Lite while maintaining accessibility. It occupies practical middle ground between sample-playback instruments and full synthesis environments.
