About this plugin
Bloom Bass Impulse Crossgrade extends Excite Audio's approach to bass synthesis by packaging an extensive collection of contemporary synth bass loops, samples, and one-shots into a single, sample-based instrument. Available as a crossgrade for existing Full Bloom product owners, it combines the workflow simplicity of impulse response triggering with genuine sound design depth.
The instrument's core strength lies in its breadth. Rather than modeling specific synth architectures, Bloom Bass Impulse captures finished bass textures across contemporary genres: Reese basses from drum and bass, acid 303s, distorted growl basses, sub-bass foundations, tech house precision, and dubstep wobbles. This approach trades synthesis flexibility for immediate sonic authenticity and production speed. The included 250 presets provide starting points, while macro controls offer four layers of real-time tonal adjustment without requiring deep menu diving.

The Edit page reveals more granular control. Users can sequence patterns across two octaves using white keys for sample triggering, modulate parameters, and chain effects with surgical precision. The newly added sample import feature extends the instrument beyond its factory library, enabling customization for specific production contexts.
Bloom Bass Impulse suits producers prioritizing workflow efficiency and contemporary sound character over modeled synthesis. It excels in drum and bass, dubstep, tech house, and bass-heavy electronic music where pre-engineered bass textures can anchor mixes effectively. Engineers seeking deep subtractive synthesis capabilities will find it limiting, but those wanting production-ready low-end without extended sound design sessions will appreciate its focused, hands-on approach to bass selection and manipulation.
