About this plugin
The Bloom Bass Impulse Upgrade delivers substantial expansion to Excite Audio's bass synthesis and sampling platform, adding over 150 presets and 50 new synth bass samples to an already capable instrument. This upgrade is essential for Lite users seeking deeper sonic flexibility and workflow refinement without purchasing the full version outright.
The core strength of Bloom Bass Impulse lies in its sample-based approach to modern bass design. Rather than pure synthesis, the engine sources loops, one-shots, and phrases from contemporary production across drum and bass, dubstep, tech house, and related genres, allowing producers to layer and sequence authentic, genre-specific timbres. The Phrase Player distinguishes this tool from conventional samplers, enabling intuitive sequencing and modulation drawing rather than traditional step entry. The Banks View feature streamlines preset navigation through drag-and-drop organization, while the Sampler Edit section grants granular control over pitch, playback, and sample manipulation.

The upgrade's inclusion of custom sample import functionality transforms Bloom Bass Impulse into a genuinely personal instrument. Combined with freely rearrangeable effects chains, this flexibility appeals to producers building signature sounds rather than seeking preset-driven solutions. The randomization feature proves valuable during composition, enabling rapid exploration of bass combinations without manual browsing.
The plugin occupies a practical middle ground between sample libraries and full synthesizers. It's best suited for electronic music producers prioritizing authentic, contemporary bass character over deep subtractive synthesis. While not a replacement for dedicated synth engines, Bloom Bass Impulse efficiently delivers production-ready bass textures with meaningful creative control, making the upgrade worthwhile for serious Lite users.
