About this plugin
Evolve Nest Acoustics represents Excite Audio's first collaborative instrument, developed alongside sound designer Nest Acoustics. This sample-based synthesizer merges field recordings, foley, and nature sounds with analog synthesis to create a distinctly organic yet processed sonic palette. The plugin distinguishes itself through its quad-layer architecture, allowing each of four independent layers to host either sample instruments or synth oscillators, blendable in real-time via an XY pad interface.
The core strength lies in its hybrid approach to sound design. Rather than pursuing pure synthesis or sample playback, Evolve Nest Acoustics occupies a middle ground suited to contemporary synthwave and atmospheric composition. Each layer accommodates imported samples alongside 250 factory sources, with sampled instruments offering play direction, tone, and keytracking controls, while synth sources feature oscillator shape and unison detuning parameters.

Signal processing centers on dual filters and a three-slot effects chain, supplemented by four macro effects inspired by botanical themes: Holo, Crust, Breeze, and Erode. Modulation capabilities include drag-and-drop envelopes, LFOs, and XY controls, providing straightforward workflow for complex parameter automation.
This crossgrade option targets existing Evolve product owners seeking expansion into textural, pad-based composition. The preset library spans multiple genres, though the instrument's character gravitates toward ambient and electronic music applications. While not a generalist synth, Evolve Nest Acoustics succeeds as a specialized tool for producers prioritizing organic texture over traditional synthesis depth. Its constraint becomes its strength: a focused instrument optimized for specific creative applications rather than comprehensive sound design.
