About this plugin
SplitEQ represents a meaningful departure from conventional parametric EQ design through its Structural Split engine, which divides incoming audio into transient and tonal components before processing. This separation addresses a fundamental limitation in traditional EQ: the inability to target problematic characteristics without compromising desirable ones. A low-shelf boost on a kick drum typically introduces mud; SplitEQ allows you to enhance the tonal low end while leaving transient attack untouched, yielding tighter, more defined results.
The plugin comprises eight parametric bands that can be applied independently to transient or tonal streams, or to both simultaneously. This architecture proves particularly effective for corrective work - removing sibilance without dulling brightness, tightening snare ring without affecting body, or eliminating plosives while preserving vocal warmth. Beyond repair, the transient/tonal split opens creative possibilities, especially when paired with SplitEQ's independent left/right and mid-side processing controls for spatial manipulation and mix rebalancing.

The sonic character is transparent and precise, with musical filter shapes that avoid the algorithmic artifacts common to some dynamic or multiband processors. For engineers accustomed to reaching for multiple tools - transient designers, de-essers, multiband compression, and several EQs - SplitEQ consolidates functionality while delivering superior results in most scenarios. The workflow is intuitive despite the advanced underlying technology, making it accessible to intermediate producers while offering sufficient depth for mixing professionals.
SplitEQ occupies a premium position among modern EQs, justified by its conceptual innovation and execution. It's essential for anyone mixing contemporary music where precision and efficiency matter.
