About this plugin
EastWest's ProDrummer represents a comprehensive approach to drum sound design that prioritizes the final mix over isolated elements. This dual-volume plugin bundle delivers approximately 120 gigabytes of professionally recorded drum kits alongside extensive mixing and processing capabilities, positioning it as a complete drum production environment rather than a simple sample library.
The core appeal lies in its integrated workflow. Both volumes feature pre-mixed drum kits calibrated by Mark "Spike" Stent and Doug Rogers, removing the guesswork from initial drum tone selection. The acoustic sources - drawn from Drum Workshop, Ludwig, Yamaha, Gretsch, and Slingerland kits recorded across multiple room acoustics - provide genuine versatility without relying on heavily processed source material.

The signal chain architecture incorporates SSL EQ and dynamics processors alongside a full-featured multiband distortion and compression tool (Ohmicide), enabling surgical tonal adjustments or aggressive sound design. An amp simulator with 80 presets and convolution reverb with 726 impulse responses round out the processing arsenal. The built-in sequencer and over 28,000 MIDI grooves across both volumes function as both a composition aid and a preview mechanism before export to your DAW.
This bundle appeals primarily to working producers seeking production-ready drum sounds without external mixing, and to composers working across film and electronic music where rapid iteration matters. While not a replacement for deep sample curation or specialized drum synthesis, ProDrummer's combination of high-quality sources and cohesive processing chain justifies its position as a legitimate studio tool rather than beginner software.
