About this plugin
Noize 2 is Denise Audio's adaptive noise generation plugin, built on the framework of their original Noize and expanded with community-requested features. The plugin generates dynamically responsive noise that tracks incoming signal amplitude in real time, making it useful for layering texture onto digital sources that lack organic character.
The core engine offers eight built-in noise profiles spanning white, pink, brown, and specialty variants. Beyond these presets, Noize 2 introduces sample-loading capability, allowing engineers to import their own audio and apply it as a noise source. This flexibility has proven surprisingly effective for unconventional applications - reversed vocals on drums and rhythmic synths, for instance, deliver convincing texture without sounding synthetic.

The interface includes embedded tools for pitch shifting and filtering within the sample editor, alongside adjustable rise and fall time parameters that shape how quickly the noise responds to transients. A solo mode isolates the noise signal for independent processing. The adaptive engine distinguishes this tool from static noise generators, particularly when dealing with dynamic material where fixed noise layers would feel static during quiet passages.
Noize 2 appeals most to in-the-box producers seeking analog warmth and dimension, though it proves equally valuable in hybrid studio workflows where recorded drums or vocals benefit from subtle reinforcement. Bass synthesis, pad design, and percussion enhancement represent its primary strengths. The real-time adaptation prevents the common problem of noise layers becoming prominent during quiet moments, a limitation of traditional approaches.
Among comparable tools, Noize 2 occupies a practical middle ground between simple white noise generators and complex granular synthesis, offering genuine creative utility without steep learning curves.
