About this plugin
Motion Filter stands as a refined digital filter plugin built on Denise Audio's proven heritage with The Sweeper. The core offering is straightforward: a resonant filter with Nyquist-corrected architecture that maintains tonal integrity across its operational range, paired with two distinct modulation systems for introducing movement into static material.
The filter topology itself covers the essential modes - low-pass, high-pass, bandpass, and notch - with slopes ranging from 12 dB/octave for gentle shelving to 96 dB/octave for surgical cuts. This breadth addresses both subtle mixing tasks and aggressive sound design work. The Sweeper mode carries forward envelope-controlled sweep behavior, while the newer LFO mode introduces waveform-based modulation with detailed parameter control. Both systems sync to host tempo, making rhythmic integration seamless.

What distinguishes Motion Filter is its technical execution. The filter maintains its character without the phase distortion or resonance collapse common at extreme settings, allowing confident use across diverse sources. The sidechain input functionality adds practical utility, enabling dynamic control based on external sources - effectively positioning the plugin as both creative tool and surgical mixing device.
Motion Filter suits producers working with loop-based material, sample libraries, and static sources requiring tonal evolution. Sound designers benefit from its responsive modulation and stable filter response. Engineers appreciate the sidechain capability as an alternative to traditional sidechaining techniques.
Within the competitive landscape of filter plugins, Motion Filter occupies the middle ground between full-featured synthesizer filters and single-purpose sweep tools. Its strength lies in consistent performance and straightforward design rather than novelty, making it a reliable choice for professional workflows.
