About this plugin
Crystalline is a modern algorithmic reverb that abandons the pretense of recreating natural acoustic spaces in favor of sculpting deliberately artificial sonic environments. Baby Audio positions this tool squarely in the lineage of legendary units like the Lexicon 224X and EMT250, but with substantially expanded parameters enabled by contemporary computing power.
The plugin employs a sophisticated algorithm that generates dense, evolving reflections without attempting to simulate room geometry or material properties. This philosophical approach yields a notably pristine, almost crystalline character - hence the name - with exceptional clarity across the frequency spectrum and minimal coloration from the reverb engine itself.

Where Crystalline distinguishes itself is in its control architecture. Users can manipulate reflection patterns, decay characteristics, and frequency-dependent behaviors with granular precision. Sync functions allow reverb timing to lock with tempo, while modulation controls introduce subtle movement without sacrificing definition. The underlying DSP quality remains consistently high even at extended decay times, addressing a common weakness in budget algorithmic reverbs.
This reverb suits producers and engineers working in contemporary genres - electronic music, experimental production, and modern pop mixing benefit most from its unnatural, dimensional character. It excels at adding space without masking detail, a critical requirement when working with compressed or heavily-processed material. The sonic signature sits comfortably between utilitarian workhorse and creative instrument, making it valuable both for routine mixing tasks and distinctive textural design. For practitioners seeking algorithmic reverb character beyond the limitations of vintage emulations, Crystalline represents a meaningful advancement in plugin reverb technology.
