About this plugin
Cinesamples' Voxos 2 is a legato choir and soloist library built on the Kontakt Player engine that targets the specific demands of orchestral and cinematic music production. The library draws from ensembles and soloists with extensive Hollywood scoring experience, captured across multiple microphone positions at Bastyr Chapel in 24-bit 48kHz 5.1 surround. The uncompressed 35GB sample set contains over 35,000 individual samples engineered for immediate usability without extensive post-processing.
The second iteration represents a meaningful refinement rather than a minor update. New recordings and mixing across the sample set improve clarity and presence compared to the original. The Phrase Builder interface remains central to the workflow, now with quantization capability and an additional dynamic layer (FFF) that expands expressive range during real-time performance. Three new patches - Chords, Octaves, and a fresh Solo Soprano voice - broaden patch options for different compositional contexts.

Technical integration is solid. Native Instruments' NKS support ensures compatibility with hardware controllers and streamlined workflow within supported DAWs. The scripting improvements enhance playability, though results depend on the quality of your MIDI programming and understanding of the library's legato mechanics.
Voxos suits composers seeking reliable, immediately-usable choir sounds without the steep learning curve of sample manipulation or extensive layering. The sonic character favors clarity and definition over ambient space - useful for dynamic scoring but potentially less suited to ambient or avant-garde applications. For cinematic and orchestral contexts, it remains a competent choice among specialized choir libraries, though individual voice quality varies across the ensemble patches.
