About this plugin
Harmonia represents a genuinely novel approach to polyphonic synthesis by combining sample-based oscillators with harmonic scanning technology. Rather than relying on traditional waveform generation, the instrument layers up to eight individually tunable pitches per oscillator, drawn from a curated library of 285 waveforms spanning synthesizers, acoustic instruments, and lo-fi sources. This architecture enables the creation of complex, evolving timbres without the CPU overhead typically associated with additive synthesis.
The harmonic scanning feature functions as the instrument's core innovation. By modulating a single slider, users sweep through harmonic combinations with interpolation between states, generating melodic sequences and morphing effects that feel organic and natural rather than sequenced. This proves particularly valuable for pad designers and ambient producers seeking movement without relying on traditional modulation sources.

The signal path includes a multimode filter, four syncable LFOs, and a comprehensive modulation matrix with eight slots accommodating dozens of source-destination combinations. The 17 included effects - ranging from distortion and phaser to reverb and echo - are fully modulatable, allowing for dramatic, evolving textural processing. Support for aftertouch and flexible MIDI mapping rounds out the control set.
Harmonia occupies a distinct position within the current plugin landscape. It appeals primarily to sound designers and electronic musicians seeking sophisticated timbral manipulation beyond standard subtractive synthesis. The professionally designed preset library of over 350 sounds provides immediate usability, though the instrument's real value emerges through deep customization. For producers prioritizing sonic depth and textural complexity over straightforward playability, Harmonia delivers compelling results.
