About this plugin
Choric Quartet is a streamlined chorus plugin that delivers the essential modulation tools without the complexity of its predecessor, Choric. Built on proven digital signal processing, it generates up to four independent voices with adjustable sine or random modulation shapes, making it equally effective for subtle enhancement or pronounced textural effects.
The plugin's architecture centers on four core parameters. Rate controls modulation speed across all voices, while Phase spreads the modulation cycle offset - a critical control for avoiding the thin, artificial quality common in basic chorus implementations. Depth manages intensity, and Looseness introduces timing variations between voices, preventing the robotic precision that often betrays digital processing.

What distinguishes Choric Quartet from comparable tools is its approach to stereo imaging. The Spread parameter distributes voices across the stereo field with genuine musicality, while the Flip CH switch inverts modulation in the right channel, creating asymmetrical modulation patterns that produce convincing width without phase issues that plague some competitive plugins.
Choric Quartet serves multiple roles effectively. On individual tracks, it adds movement to static sources without sacrificing clarity. On buses, the width controls excel at enriching drum groups or vocal stacks. On full mixes, judicious settings enhance cohesion without the wash that undermines definition.
The 15 included presets provide solid starting points, though the randomize function proves genuinely useful for discovering unconventional textures. The plugin occupies sensible middle ground - more capable than basic bundled choruses, more approachable than deep modulation toolkits. For producers seeking straightforward, transparent chorus processing with professional results, Choric Quartet delivers precisely what its name suggests.
