About this plugin
PitchShaper is Cableguys' drawable pitch shifting engine, designed to integrate within their ShaperBox 3 platform. The plugin provides four distinct algorithms - Complex, Vocals, Drums, and Vintage - each optimized for specific material. The Complex algorithm handles general-purpose pitch shifting with minimal artifacts, while the Vocals algorithm prioritizes intelligibility through advanced formant modeling. The Drums algorithm maintains transient integrity and punch during pitch manipulation, crucial for preserving rhythmic definition. The Vintage algorithm introduces character reminiscent of hardware pitch shifters.
The core strength lies in its draw-based interface, allowing users to sketch pitch curves directly onto a timeline rather than programming traditional parameters. This approach proves intuitive for creative work - octave jumps, arpeggios, and formant sweeps can be rendered quickly without menu diving. Multiband capability enables independent pitch processing across frequency ranges, useful for surgical correction or layered sound design.

PitchShaper differentiates itself through formant control, permitting age and gender modification of vocal material beyond simple transposition. This level of control previously required specialized tools or metering equipment. The audio-triggered LFO system adds dynamic responsiveness, allowing pitch shifts to respond to input dynamics.
Production-focused engineers will find PitchShaper valuable for both corrective work and sound design. Session musicians benefit from its vocal enhancement capabilities, while electronic producers gain an intuitive melodic sequencer. The plugin's inclusion with ShaperBox 3 Bundle purchases positions it as an accessible entry point to advanced pitch manipulation, though experienced users will appreciate the technical depth beneath its accessibility.
