About this plugin
bx_pulsar is Brainworx's comprehensive delay plugin, built around five distinct delay modes that cover the practical spectrum of modern production needs. The Air mode delivers transparent digital delay with optional diffusion and modulation, while Magnetic emulates tape characteristics across four sub-modes spanning reel-to-reel through cassette and circuit variants. Circuit targets classic BBD delays with four character options, Aether ventures into granular and pitch-shifted territories for experimental textures, and Reverse provides inverted delays with integrated compression for controlled transient handling.
The plugin's appeal lies in its balance between sonic depth and operational simplicity. Rather than overwhelming users with parameter matrices, Brainworx has curated a focused control set that encourages rapid sonic exploration without sacrificing capability. The eight-step sequencer moves beyond traditional multitap delay complexity by enabling per-step modulation of feedback, panning, and level - allowing producers to craft rhythmic delay patterns and spatial effects with practical speed.

Additional features include multiple stereo modes for width control, built-in sidechain ducking for vocal and mix-dependent processing, and both freeze and groove controls that extend creative possibilities. The interface design prioritizes workflow, presenting information clearly while remaining visually uncluttered.
bx_pulsar addresses a genuine gap in the delay plugin market, offering both character-focused and experimental modes without requiring deep menu diving. It's particularly valuable for producers who need reliable delay processing alongside creative texture generation - whether shaping vocal space, building rhythmic effects, or exploring unconventional soundscapes. Among comparable tools, it distinguishes itself through its sequencer implementation and the coherence of its delay algorithms.
