About this plugin
Brainworx's bx_limiter TP addresses a persistent problem in digital mastering: existing true peak limiters typically compromise sound quality in pursuit of inter-sample peak control. This plugin takes a fundamentally different approach, built on "Selective Oversampling" technology developed over two years with input from professional mastering engineers. Rather than applying oversampling uniformly across the signal, the algorithm deploys it surgically where it improves peak detection while avoiding the artifacts and phase issues that plague conventional implementations.
The results are audible. The low end remains stable and defined even under aggressive limiting, stereo imaging stays coherent, and transients retain their snap rather than smearing into the surrounding material. The combination of selective oversampling and advanced look-ahead detection delivers tighter control than competing true peak limiters, particularly useful when pushing mastering loudness targets without introducing the distortion-like coloration that has historically plagued this category.

Beyond peak control, the plugin includes input and output filters for final-stage corrective EQ, useful for catching problematic resonances without additional processing chains. The interface remains straightforward, prioritizing functional controls over superfluous features.
This plugin is essential for mastering engineers handling streaming delivery and broadcast standards. It's equally valuable for mix engineers working on sources requiring transparent loudness management. Among true peak limiters, bx_limiter TP represents the current technical standard for preserving both headroom compliance and sonic integrity, making it a pragmatic investment for professional mixing and mastering work.
