About this plugin
AmpKnob Trivium Rhythm is a dedicated guitar amp plugin developed in collaboration with Trivium's rhythm guitarists, engineered specifically for high-gain rhythm work. The plugin strips away unnecessary complexity while delivering the tonal precision required for fast, articulate riffing.
The amp architecture centers on three distinct voicings: Green Boost provides clean to edge-of-breakup tones with integrated reverb, Orange Boost spans crunch through substantial distortion, and Red Boost specializes in high-gain territory with exceptional clarity for rapid pick work. Each channel maintains a characteristically tight low end that resists muddiness even during aggressive chugging patterns, a critical requirement for modern metal production.

The plugin's speaker modeling employs Bogren Digital's proprietary IRDX technology, which applies dynamic processing to impulse responses for more lifelike cabinet behavior. Two cabinet options - Modern and Vintage - were captured at Fascination Street Studios and are complemented by impulse response loading for further customization.
Beyond the plugin itself, the standalone version includes a functional recording interface with built-in metronome and tuner, transforming it into a genuine practice tool. This approach acknowledges the reality of modern writing workflows: capturing ideas without launching a full DAW session proves essential when inspiration strikes.
Sonically, AmpKnob Trivium Rhythm occupies a specific niche within the high-gain plugin landscape. It prioritizes definition and articulation over vintage character, making it most valuable for contemporary metal and hard rock production. For engineers seeking a straightforward, no-compromise rhythm amp without extraneous features, this represents a genuinely purposeful tool.
