About this plugin
BLEASS Tides is a delay processor that prioritizes sonic fluidity and character over conventional timing precision. The plugin's core distinction lies in its approach to delay time modulation: rather than the artifacts typical of pitch-shifted delays, Tides employs either tape-style time stretching or crossfading between delay lines, allowing seamless tempo adjustments without warping artifacts. This proves particularly valuable in performance contexts or when working with evolving arrangements.
The signal shaping architecture is comprehensive. An input stage provides resonant low - and high - pass filtering for tonal pre-processing, while the feedback path features five insert points accommodating 11 different processors: distortions, filters, pitch shifters, frequency shifters, ring modulation, and a nested delay. Each insert responds to Tides' dual stereo LFOs and envelope followers, enabling complex modulation chains that transform the character of repeats over time.

The v2 plugin engine brings a refined interface philosophy: controls are logically organized and equally functional across mouse and touch inputs. The delay visualizer responds to interactive click controls, generating dynamic frequency shifting effects in real time. Performance - oriented features include momentary Freeze and Kill buttons for immediate signal manipulation.
Tides appeals primarily to sound designers and experimental musicians seeking sophisticated delay textures beyond standard echo processors. Engineers working with synthesizers or processing instruments will find the modulated feedback path particularly rewarding. The plugin occupies a premium category alongside Soundtoys Echoboy and Native Instruments Replika XT, distinguished by its stronger focus on feedback path processing and fluid time manipulation.
