About this plugin
SampleWiz 2 is a hybrid sampler and synthesizer developed by BLEASS in collaboration with Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess. The plugin combines granular processing, sample manipulation, and synthesis into a single instrument designed for rapid sound design iteration. Rather than targeting the workflow of traditional production samplers like Kontakt, SampleWiz 2 prioritizes immediacy over comprehensive sample library management.
The core strength lies in its sample transformation pipeline. Users can record audio directly into the plugin, set loop points, apply granular processing, or load existing samples and quickly render them into playable synthesizer voices. The granular engine offers genuine sonic character, capable of producing everything from subtle textural shifts to aggressive, glitchy transformations. The architecture supports both traditional playback modes and cloud-based granular synthesis, giving experienced sound designers multiple pathways to their intended result.

Modulation possibilities include two freely assignable LFOs, multiple ADSR envelopes, and BLEASS's proprietary Motion Sequencer for rhythmic modulation patterns. Full MPE support enables expressive control when used with compatible controllers. The filter section provides standard multi-mode functionality paired with an overdrive processor useful for adding harmonic grit without external processing.
SampleWiz 2 appeals primarily to electronic musicians and sound designers seeking tools that balance depth with accessibility. While not a replacement for full-featured sampler workstations, it excels at transforming source material into playable instruments within minutes. The interface remains intuitive without sacrificing control, making it suitable for both quick patch creation and detailed sonic exploration across genres ranging from ambient to experimental electronic production.
