About this plugin
Tekno is a drum synthesis plugin that replaces sample hunting with direct sound creation through 18 fully synthesized drum engines. Developed in collaboration with circuit modeling specialist Jatin Chowdhury, it combines analog circuit emulation with modern DSP to produce drum sounds with considerable punch and harmonic complexity. The plugin delivers kicks, snares, claps, hats, and percussion tools designed to work across electronic music genres while maintaining sonic character distinct from classic drum machine emulations.
The creative sequencer forms the plugin's central innovation, built around rapid beat generation and optional unpredictability. Smart randomization, auto-fill functions, and quick velocity controls enable fast iteration. Variable step lengths and lane speeds support polyrhythmic experimentation, while assignable chance parameters introduce controlled randomness. Completed sequences export directly as MIDI files for further editing in any DAW.

Tekno suits producers seeking synthesis-based drum design without sample libraries, particularly those working in techno, industrial, and experimental electronic music. The dual workflow accommodates both immediate inspiration through randomization and deep sound design through unlockable circuit-bending parameters. The 1,314 voice presets from recognized sound designers provide starting points without dictating direction.
The plugin distinguishes itself through synthesis depth rather than sample curation. Its circuit modeling foundation gives drums organic variability absent in purely digital drum machines. For experienced producers comfortable with synthesis, Tekno offers legitimate alternatives to both sample-based and emulation-focused drum tools. The export functionality extends its utility beyond standalone use, allowing integration into existing production workflows. Its technical execution and design philosophy position it meaningfully within contemporary drum synthesis tools.
