About this plugin
Audiority's Harmonic Maximizer addresses a persistent challenge in modern mixing and mastering: achieving loudness and presence without sacrificing dynamic character or introducing audible distortion. The plugin combines multi-band excitation with transparent loudness maximization, offering producers a more nuanced approach than conventional hard limiting.
The core architecture divides the frequency spectrum into independent processing bands, allowing targeted harmonic enhancement where it matters most. This selective approach prevents the homogenized, over-processed sound that plagues tracks processed through broadband exciters. The saturation blending stage adds musical coloration without the computational overhead of traditional harmonic saturation chains, making it suitable for use across multiple channels.

The auto-gain and auto-release mechanisms are particularly valuable for dynamic material. Rather than forcing manual parameter tweaking across different source types, these adaptive features respond intelligently to incoming signals, maintaining consistent loudness perception while preserving transient definition. This proves especially useful on vocals, drums, and mixed buses where dynamic range varies significantly.
Harmonic Maximizer occupies practical middle ground between transparent dynamics processing and aggressive presence enhancement. It lacks the dramatic coloration of boutique analog emulations, but compensates with surgical control and minimal latency. The tool appeals most to mixing engineers seeking reliable loudness solutions and mastering professionals who require transparent yet effective maximization without resorting to multiple plug-ins.
In a landscape crowded with saturation and loudness tools, Harmonic Maximizer's multi-band approach and integrated automation distinguish it as a credible alternative to more established competitors, particularly for engineers valuing efficiency and transparent processing chains.
