About this plugin
Auburn Sounds' Panagement 2 is a specialized spatial processor that combines binaural panning, convolution reverb, and modulated delay into a single integrated tool. The plugin excels at placing sources within a three-dimensional stereo field using HRTF-based binaural techniques, allowing engineers to position dry tracks with convincing head-related spatial cues rather than relying solely on level balancing.
The core strength lies in its unified approach to spatial manipulation. Rather than stacking separate plugins, Panagement handles panning, early reflections, and late reverb as interconnected processes. The delay section supports tempo sync and binaural tap placement, enabling rhythmic spatial movement that feels organic rather than artificial. The reverb engine, while not a dedicated convolver, produces natural-sounding hall and room simulations without excessive computational overhead.

Panagement 2 is best suited for mix engineers working with dense arrangements who need surgical control over stereo image and depth perception. It shines on vocals, drums, and synths where spatial separation enhances clarity. The learning curve is steeper than simpler panners, as the plugin demands intentional parameter interaction rather than passive presets, but experienced users appreciate this depth.
The plugin occupies a middle ground between basic stereo effects and specialized immersive audio tools. It won't replace dedicated binaural panning solutions or world-class convolution reverbs, but few single plugins offer comparable integration of these three domains. For engineers seeking unconventional spatial solutions without splitting their workflow across multiple instances, Panagement 2 delivers distinctive character and practical flexibility.
