About this plugin
Rev INTENSITY is Arturia's original algorithmic reverb, engineered from the ground up rather than modeled after existing hardware. The plugin combines conventional reverb architecture with synthesis-inspired controls, allowing users to shape spatial character and tonal coloration beyond what traditional reverbs offer. Its core strength lies in modulation capabilities: an envelope follower and programmable function generator let you modulate any parameter in real time, opening possibilities for evolving, reactive effects that respond to input dynamics or LFO patterns.
The signal path includes pre and post-filtering for tonal shaping, an integrated chorus for thickening reverb density, and a reverb freeze function that captures and sustains a moment of the effect. Soft clipping prevents unwanted digital harshness. The architecture prioritizes CPU efficiency while maintaining sonic lushness, a notable achievement for algorithmic reverbs that typically demand significant processing power.

Sonically, Rev INTENSITY excels at cinematic, expansive textures. Its modulation-heavy design makes it particularly suited for experimental and progressive music production, where unconventional spatial effects enhance rather than merely decorate source material. Sound designers and electronic producers will find the synth-like parameter set more creatively useful than standard reverb plugins, though traditional approaches remain accessible through its intuitive control layout.
Among contemporary algorithmic reverbs, Rev INTENSITY distinguishes itself through modulation depth and visual feedback rather than convolution authenticity. It competes less with emulations of classic gear and more with design-forward tools targeting producers seeking distinctive character and sonic transformation. The integrated tutorial helps users navigate its feature set efficiently.
