About this plugin
Arturia's Mini V stands as the most credible software recreation of the Minimoog Model D, the instrument that fundamentally shaped electronic music production. Rather than merely sampling the hardware, Mini V employs True Analog Emulation technology to model the actual circuitry of the original - particularly its three voltage-controlled oscillators, the resonant Moog ladder filter, and the characteristically warm envelope generators that defined analog synthesis in the 1970s.
The plugin captures the Minimoog's essential sonic architecture: thick, slightly gritty oscillator layering, filter modulation that ranges from subtle warmth to aggressive resonance peaks, and a responsiveness that rewards nuanced tweaking. The filter exhibits the classic nonlinear behavior of the original, becoming increasingly aggressive as it self-oscillates - a quality that differentiated the Minimoog from cleaner digital approximations. Mini V's three oscillators can be detuned for the "fatness" that made the hardware legendary, while the ADSR envelope and modulation matrix provide the staging ground for everything from woody bass lines to piercing lead sequences.

For producers working across electronic music, hip-hop, and experimental genres, Mini V offers immediate access to the sonic palette that influenced decades of music production. The plugin functions both as a faithful reproduction tool and as a teaching instrument, revealing how the Minimoog's elegant simplicity generates remarkable sonic depth. Among competing emulations, Mini V maintains superior fidelity to the original circuit behavior while offering practical adjustments for modern production workflows, including polyphony and integrated effects processing.
