Bus PEAK is Arturia's take on the mastering limiter, combining transparent peak control with comprehensive loudness metering in a single plugin. The design philosophy centers on preserving mix integrity while preventing clipping and exceeding loudness targets, making it equally useful across tracking, mixing, and mastering workflows.

The signal chain consists of five distinct modules: dual tone controls for bass and treble shaping, a flexible clipper for transient management, and a three-stage limiter architecture with separate True Peak control. This layered approach allows engineers to address problem frequencies before limiting, then apply gain reduction with surgical precision. The tone controls serve a dual purpose - they can densify a mix or pre-condition dynamics before the limiter engages, offering more control than traditional single-stage limiters provide.

The metering suite distinguishes Bus PEAK from simpler alternatives. True Peak metering accounts for inter-sample peaks that conventional meters miss, critical for broadcast and streaming compliance. The loudness meter tracks LUFS relative to your target, while the gain reduction visualizer displays exactly how aggressively the limiter is responding across the frequency spectrum.
