About this plugin
Antelope Audio's ZHEGA is a tube saturation plugin that authentically models the harmonic distortion characteristics found in classic studio preamps and power amplifiers. Rather than simply applying distortion, ZHEGA responds dynamically to input levels, generating harmonically rich saturation that tightens and colors audio in ways that mimic genuine tube compression and nonlinearity.
The plugin's core strength lies in its three selectable tube bias modes, which fundamentally alter how saturation develops across the frequency spectrum. This gives users genuine tonal flexibility - from subtle warmth that glues a mix bus together to aggressive harmonic enhancement on individual sources like drums or guitars. The drive control pushes saturation intensity, while dedicated tone and output controls allow precise shaping of the resulting character.

Built on Antelope Audio's established analog modeling expertise, ZHEGA captures the frequency-dependent behavior of real tube circuits rather than merely emulating gain staging. The included cabinet amp emulation, parallel mixing capability, and autogain function extend its utility across mastering and individual track applications alike.
ZHEGA serves engineers and producers seeking tactile saturation control without hardware constraints. It competes effectively against boutique saturation plugins by offering genuine circuit modeling rather than generic distortion algorithms. The dynamic response makes it equally suitable for transparent enhancement or creative sound design, positioning it as a versatile solution for modern productions that benefit from analog character.
