The plugin combines the sonic signature of the original 436C with circuit modifications inspired by decades of hardware customization, resulting in a Vari-Mu design optimized for transparent gain reduction across demanding sources.

The compressor draws character from three vintage reference points: the 436C's mid-range smoothing qualities, the Fairchild 670's fast attack response, and the RS124's distinctive hold recovery characteristic.
